How many questions are on the Water Distribution Operator Class I exam?
A WPI standardized exam has 100 scored multiple-choice questions. Up to 10 additional pretest questions may be mixed in; they are unidentified and do not count toward your score.
How long is the exam and what score do I need?
Time limits and passing scores are set by your state, not by WPI. Many states allow 3 hours and use a passing score of 70%, but some give higher classes more time. Confirm both with your certifying agency.
Does my state use the WPI Class I exam?
Each state decides which exams to use and what it calls its license classes. Some use WPI exams as they are, some use customized versions, and some write their own. Check your state's page on this site or ask your agency.
